The M273 in my S211 E550 is a nice engine, but the sound is lame. Is there some easy way to make it get a little more V8-y sound without spending a fortune and thrashing the emissions stuff?
I am going to ruffle feathers and state that I do not like the sound of AMG's at all. I had an E55 after owning a tuned IROC-Z, and was disappointed. It is just harsh and grating and loud. I want the throaty groggroggroggrog. A discrete barytoned testament of many cross-plane liters, not histrionic racing screeches, cracks and pops.
Attaching for reference what the old Camaro sounded like.
So: how do I obtain more of the nice burble without having to weld a 8-2-1 system with a seven-foot 4" pipe ending in a glasspack muffler?
