Jeep Grand Cherokee
OM642 varients
Can Anybody tell me what the difference is between the OM642 variants fitted to different makes and models of cars.

I have a jeep grand cherokee with a 3.0lt v6 crd engine fitted,OM642 980. The motor is blown and and is beyond economical repair.

Is there anything preventing me from using a motor from a ML320CDI or any other vehicle that uses this motor?
