Question RPM's

I can never get the question out properly, it would seem. My question is: What RPM should I expect with a 1980 500 SE? Yea, I know, there isn't one. But I got one. The information that came with the car does not describe the rear axle ratio but the stock wheels and tires were 205-70R14's. The wheels and tires no on are: 225-50R16. This is a recommended replacement tire according to the specs on the car. But as my mileage on the highway is a miserable 15 mpg, it might help to know the above. And, the engine ( when the tack works) seems to be turning about 2350 @ 60. For a touring car this seems high. Any help will be appreciated. dudly
