Is the master cylinder removed from the firewall under the hood only or do I have to go under the dash inside the car to remove a bolt from the piston rod before I can remove the master cylinder from the car?

 

The site says my question for help has been viewed 975 times with not one response as to my concern. I'm beginning to think this site is just made up of a bunch of retiree's that have nothing else to do and probably don't know what to do anyway.
I'm very disappointed so far.
