dome light and sunroof switch
The dome light in my recently acquired 1989 300CE (W124) does not light up when the doors are open (as it should), although the light does work when the switch is moved to one of the other positions, such as for the reading light. Another thing that happened is that after initially flipping up the sunroof, it wouldn't come back down. I had to lower it manually from inside the trunk.
I was told that to get the light to work correctly I would need to change the light module. In view of the fact that the sunroof switch is a part of that module, as is also the seat-belt warning light, which incidentally also doesn't work, I am wondering if changing the module might possibly cure the sunroof and seat-belt warning issues as well. If not, than I suppose those are separate issues and would like to know how they can be addressed.
I would really appreciate it if someone more knowledgeable than I am could enlighten me.
