We spent the last few days moving everything to a new and faster server. Most of the posts that were lost recently should now be there.

The only change I need to make everyone aware of right now is that I have turned off the ability to upload attachments. Right now attachments are being written to the DB and it's become unmanageable. I will be implementing a new upload feature so that attachments are sent to disk with just a pointer being written to the database. This will make things much easier to manage and should help alleviate future contention with the DB as well.

i think that last major system crash helped the site majorly...

why? don't get me wrong, i love this forum... but I think that last big crash made many of us much much more humble...

Many of us lost THOUSANDS of post counts (myself included), and since its resurrection, I haven't whored since... any many others have subdued their whoring too...

We sure did stop! Also I think the amount of double posts will also be decreased with the new server.
