Room Behind 3rd Row

Does anyone know (or have good photos) of the amount of space behind the 3rd row of seats? I have 4 kids and need some space behind the 3rd row for this to make any sense. We have a QX56 we hate and would love to get one of these if it can hold the family. Thanks in advance.

There is a link in NevadaJack's signature to a photo gallery.

The one I saw looks like it has about 18" of room behind the 3rd row when in use. However, the tilt of the seat takes even more space.

Actually, the tilt seems minimal. Based on the photo, this has more space than our QX56. Thanks for your help! Looks like we're in...now need to find out about the AMG version. Our lease on the QX is up in May of '06. If the AMG version is close I will wait, otherwise it is time to dump the QX-56 early and get a R500.

I have seen spy shots of the AMG version being tested (German Car Fans). I think summer of '06 may be a little early for that to be introduced but MB is unpredictable when it comes to releasing models as you well know.

The August issue of Car and Driver says "With all three seats upright, there's only enough cargo space to carry a few cases of pinot noir,..."

Unfortunately, I don't think they're talkin' jeroboams.

Hope there is a roof rack or I'll probably be buying an Odyssey Touring.

With the standard sunroof you may find an aftermarket rack of some kind. I have not seen it as an option or mentioned in any of the MB literature. I don't see how you could use one with the Panoroof since it opens outside the car.

Too bad Jack...
