Nice to know it can float in water if needed but think I would have to go with a nice used Enzo for the price before choosing the R..

That listing is from NetStar before the BYO site was up and they had not yet set the base pricing. They use that 444,444 and to someone not familiar with it get a shock.

I had the fortunate experience to drive a production trial 3 version of the R class for a week, and I have to admit to thinking of you. Let me tell you that it is a very nice car. Smooth - you wouldn't even know you were doing 95 unless you looked at the dash. It handles well, although you cannot ignore the body mass and long wheelbase. And, it gets looks like crazy! The SL 65 I drove for a week got nowhere the looks as this R 500 did.

I'm sure you will be happy when you get it!

Thanks for the report. Sounds more and more like a very nice package that MB has put together. I will take delivery in MS and drive home to Las Vegas so I will have a real opportunity to "test things out." Based on your experience, once the car passes that magic 1000 mile mark, I may have to use the Cruise Control to keep things under control...:-)
