Best car ever

Finally, i picked up my R350 yesterday.
after 20 miles on my new R i got stopped from the police becouse of speeding [85 in a 55 zone] one ticket to beginn with.
i drove to santa barbara and my familie and me we enjoied the car a lot.
I have driven the A8 before but the R is nothing behind .it feels like a true luxery car ,is very quied and smooth [air matic] my car is fully loaded exept the xenon and the parktronic [wich i really liked but was not available ]
my car is bewter outside and macademia inside .i have 200 miles on it and i would say it is the most luxary car i ever drove.

Congratulations.

I am so looking forward to getting my R. I love to hear the glowing reports from those whom have gotten their hands on one.

Thanks for your post.

R350, 00' M Coupe
We bought our first Mercedes. R350 Iridium Silver w/black leather in the middle of Novermber. I'm on my third BMW and I was waiting for BMW's version, but couldn't wait. I enjoy our family car a lot with 4,xxx miles already. The car drives smooth and looks great w/amg package. My only complaint is the braking system. The braking response is weak and needs a upgrade. I wish airmatic was one of our options.
Our vehicle came with: (220) Parktronic, (289) wood/leather multi function steering wheel, (293)rear side airbags, (536) sirius satellite radeo, (575) 2nd row center console, (973) heated front seats, (318) Trim package, (319) Lighting package, (321) AMG sports package, (326) Premium package, (581) 3-zone climate control.

Dare I say the R-Class is finally catching on? The dealer here seems to actually be able to move them now. I know Mercedes is leasing the hell out of them too. I think sales will get even better when the new V8s roll in this summer and options/standard equipment list is adjusted.

2000 CLK 320
I am starting to see more on the streets in and around NYC every day. I just completed a 2500 mile round trip in my R350. I averaged 23 mpg on the return leg...unbelievable for a vehicle this big.

R350, 00' M Coupe
I drove my mom's C320 and the brakes felt weak also. I guess I got use to BMW's braking system for the last 6 years. My first BMW was the 00' E46 323CI, 2nd 00' 368/7 Z M Coupe (only 2,500 + came to the states). I still have her and she's not going anywhere. 3rd 04' X3 was for commuting, but traded her in for the R350.

Mercedes
I've heard nothing but good things about this car and my mechanic was nuts about it saying it rides like a dream.

like i said before the 350 is just perfect for us.
my experience after 700 milles .
the power of the 350 is really enough ,i was surprised!
the car rides like a dream with the air matic, but i never drove it without.
wind or other noises :do not exist.
the transmition is wonderfull especialy in the sport mode.
i like the panorama roof and the navi.
the navigation is as good as the one of my audi A8 but both are not really perfect.[almost perfect] the upgraded radio is a must.i would recomend the parktronic which i do not have .
trim package is very nice and looks good at night.
the comfort in this car is great.
i have macademia inside pewter outside and i like this combination a lot
i would say you need to have .air matic ,sound system and parktronic.
the car does not like pumps ,if you drive over pumps you feel the size and weight of the car.that is the only complaint i have.
light pkg would be nice but was not important for me.
have a nice day.

Based on all the above comments i think the AIRMATIC is definitely a must for this car....how about the tires and rims is it 18" Ok ? or need the optional 19" 255R 50?? and also keyless go??

i am not sure ihave the orig.17' wheels and there are fine for me ,
i think the 18'or 19' look a little bit better and the ride would be almost the same.
if i would upgrade it must be least 20' everything under look to me almost the same and it would not be worth to spend the extra money.
the air matic is really nice to have, and a lot of fun to play with.
keyless go is not an option on the 350 but i have it on my A8 and i like it very much.

MB R500, BMW X-5 4.4i
We have Iridium Silver/Ash leather. We always had blk/blk vehicles before, but R500 didn't look that good in blk/blk. Only downside of Ash interior is that R class interior plastic isn't nice as other MB in past. Blk plastic looks better than Ash plastic, but overall Ash looks nicer in our minds (well, my wife's mind).

I will post some pictures when I get chance this weekend.

Can you post photos of your R350 with AMG Sports Package? What is included in AMG sports package? What does the exterior/interior difference? Thanks.

R350 AMG sports package

Can anyone tell me what the difference is with R350 with AMG Sports Package and without?

MBZ website only indicates 19" AMG wheels and front/rear bumper upgrades. Some other websites indicates mechanical & interior upgrades as well. Some also states fog lights comes with AMG Sports Package.

If you have photos or own R350 with AMG Package, will you post photos and provide more info? Thanks for your help.
