Well I went to the dealership to take a look at the Rclass and the GL class.

My mind was more focused towards the R class due to the massive discounts being given.

I honestly felt that GL felt smoother on the road even though its more of a true SUV vs a minivan/wagon hybrid.
The seats all around in the GL were more comfortable than the R.
Ingress and Egress for the R was better than the GL but not by much. More leg room in the R class than GL. But the GL's legroom was sufficient.
Quality of materials in the GL seemed to be higher than the R.

At the end of the day I picked a GL450 instead of the R.

The R class reminded me of the ML I bought when they first came out. Just not on the same lvl as the rest of the mercedes line up.
