'06 R350 Climate Control wierdness..?

Experiencing a wierd issue in my wife's 06 R350 when using climate control... Clue me in here if you've seen this and understand it... Here's the deal.. Climate control set to Auto, pass side set to 72, drivers side 68, Rear AC OFF, REST Off, temps outside like 5 degrees but happens in all cold outside temps... Occassionaly if I adjust the drivers side temp higher, even by one click, the LED on the temp dial moves to the new temp setting and then jumps back to the setting it was on... No change in the air temp coming out of the vents...! I'm assuming the Climate Control has an issue with raising the temp so the LED on the dial is freaking out... Doesn't seem to happen on the passenger side... Please don't tell me to RTFM 'cause I did...

thats odd... what happens if you make a dramatic temperature change on the driver side... do you notice a dramatic change in the tempurature of the air that is blown out of the driver side?

Nope, nothing changes... However, If I turn of Auto mode, and select a higher fan setting manually, and then raise the temp setting, warmer air starts to blow out the vents... It only seems to be an issue when in Auto Mode..

According to local dealer, this is a known problem on the R Class. Take it to the dealer and get then to swap out the HVAC head unit. I saw this happen on the wife's R class on the way back from my sister's funeral.

Hmmm... OK, thanks for the heads up... The Service Mngr. is a personal friend of ours so we'll take it in and get it looked at...
