Upgrading to 19's or 20's ? ? ?
I am looking to upgrade my wheels on my R350, it does not have airmatic. Narrowed it down to 2 choices :
19" 255/50/19 MMR HR-2 (looks like carlsson wheels)
20" 265/45/20 O.Z. Canyon (looks close to oem)
for those of you that have upgraded to larger wheels, how is the ride ? I know that if I get the 19's, i probably will regret not getting the 20's just as far as looks. If anyone is running that 19" size, please post a pic, I would love to see how it looks. I am worried that they will look too small and have that donut look. The 20's look nice and low profile on the 45 series tire.

It's funny you should ask as I was just about to post a message showing my brand new OZ Canyons on my R350. Got them from the Tirerack with Bridgestone Dueler Alenzas in the size 275/45/20 Thanks to Luke from TR for helping me order and getting them out so fast! 20's are the only way to go! As far as the ride, wifey can't tell a difference and I can barely feel one...I think the quality of the tire will determine most of that.

If you have the Saks edition like your profile states, you should already have 19's on it. Mine does.

Well I registered on the forum the day before I got the car, i pretty much did the dealing over the phone (dealer was 3 hours away). On their website the car looked spotless, I think they were the pictures when the person traded the car in. Well since than, the manager was driving the car and pretty much ruin the whole car. When I went up there to take delivery of the car, it was in horrible condition. To make a long story short, I bought a R350 at a dealership 15mins from there. But the R500 saks is a very beautiful car.

Will you be using a similar tread and speed rating to OEM? If so, you won't notice much difference in ride or handling. If you go to summer performance tires, you'll notice a substantial difference in both. The summer tires have a much stiffer sidewall. The stickier tread will allow more aggressive driving, if you like that sort of thing... .
For pictures of me driving my '07 R500 in an autox, go to www.gws-mbca.org, look for the link to the Metro Tri-Star magazine, download and check out the Pylon Alley article on p. 6. Forgive the mislabeling of the car. The writer is a Porsche owner.
