Crackling in Radio when it rains.
Hey all, have you all experienced any issues with your audio system in your R? Specifically, when it rains or when it's humid outside do you get some crackling or distortion in your radios on all sources? It's happened twice to me in ~9 months, and I want to say I've heard of this issue on other sites. Dealer has no clue, so I'm turning to the real experts

it rained here in jersey pretty hard on the weekend, but my audio system was crisp and clear.
only sound i heard was like a cracking from the windshield, like it would break any second.
also my panorama roof made a heck lot of noises.
i figured a car well over 50k would be more or less silent :-/

I've had my R since the summer and have experienced some good rainstorms. There does seem to be a direct correlation between hard rain and noise from the windshield and panoramic roof. The side windows also emit similar sounds when the rain hits the vehicle during high winds. However, I believe this is typical of most high profile vehicles and can occur even when the car is not in motion.
If I were getting atypical noises from my audio system and the car is still under warranty, I would ask the dealer to relace the system to see if that has any effect. One of the best things I've found about owning a Benz is that the warranty service is excellent!
