Adding 7th seat option to 2006?
Is this possible? I am looking at a 2006 that is optioned exactly the we want, except for the 7th seat. Is it possible (mechanically and financially) to do so. I'm sure anything can be done, but is it worth doing so? Many thanks.

I have asked my dealership about adding the 7 seat option to my 2007 R. The service advisor said that it could not be done because my year did not have the indentation in the floor meant to seat the little middle "jumpseat"
I am not convinced that it can't be done though. If anyone comes up with a solution, please let me know!

7th Seat Retrofit . . . next to impossible
Not Correct! 7th Seat Option is only available starting in MY '08. I own and drive an '07 R320 since last March. I have (still have) the '07 Rclass brochure and "No" 7th seat option for '07.
In my opinion, 7th seat option can be added to '06 or '07 if you have the skills to buy the parts (not easy but possible through a friendly MB Parts Rep) and DIY (do it yourself). If you do so, your car is "uncertified" and you risk compromising your liability coverage on your insurance coverage.
Because of that, you will not likely finding a shop (MB or non-MB) to do it due to costs and other BIGGER ISSUES involving safety certifications with DoT, liability issues with insurance companies, etc. This mod is much different than the typical mods on audio, video, cameras, chrome wheels etc. that do not involve transportation safety and liability for your car.
If you really, really want/need this option, buy or trade yours for an '08.
