'06 R350 - is rear center counsel removable?

Is the rear center counsel removable and easily reinstalled to meet needs? I am looking at an R with the counsel and would like to have it removed for easy access to the rear seats (we have 2 kids).

Thanks

It would simply be an assumption that it wouldn't look like crap after you did it. Anything's removable of course.

Yes it is. There is a latch that you can pull up in the front towards the floor. It spells it out clearly in the manual. The latch looks/feels just like the one on your arm rest and works the same.

Yes it is removable, it was an option to begin with. As far as the comment about it looking like crap, it would simply look like a stock R class minus the arm rests in the second row that are removed to make room for the console. There may be some mounting hardware that would be seen in the carpet area though.

Hi Guys,
we are currently considering to tradi in our Jeep Commander in a R class.
Expecting another Baby and with 3rd row up there is no room for a strawler in the Jeep. We also plan something similar with the R, to let our boys sqeese thru the Captain chairs to go to the 3rd row.
Therefore my question, if I don't have the console, can I also easily remove the armrest on the Captains?
Or if we take the 7 seater R, is it possible to remove the little seat in the middle of 2nd row? Looks like it on pictures.
Thanks for your answers

I too am wondering about removal of the 7th seat. If anyone has done this, how does it look?
