the player still works...but the screen is broken.
the dealer sd the screen only is $2k to replace. this is too much for me to swallow. anyone know of an alternative fix?

Can you tell me which model player you have. There are a few different factory ones and aftermarkets. Some pictures will help also. It is possible to remove and replace an lcd screen.

I would get the MB part number first and then shop around for the monitor. If that is still too expensive, remove the monitor and check to see the real manufacturer of the screen; Then buy a replacement LCD from them. You should be able to DIY.

not covered under warranty, I tried.
Same thing/answer for me...going to find a good car stereo place and have them replace the screen for me. the 2k price was a complete replacement...since MB sources these, they don't offer replacement parts. GAY.
