Replacing one strut versus two at the same time?

Took the car in for service because a noise in the rear of the car. They are going to replace (under warranty) the strut and see if that resolves the problem. Should i be concerned about them replacing just one strut instead of both rear ones at the same time? the car is a 2006 with 52,000 miles on it. has anyone had experience with a dealer replacing both struts when one is bad? wondering if i should push for both to be replaced...

thanks for the replies in advance!

Common problem on the 2006 is rear struts (that resemble shocks) that leak / come apart. One of mine was replaced under warranty - the other was fine. Remember that they're air-adjustable with the auto-leveling feature, regardless of whether you have airmatic or not.

Replacing "shocks" in pairs is something mek a nics recommend to Chevy owners.

These aren't "shocks" and they aren't real old and worn out, one just failed.

Dealer may have trouble collecting from MBUSA.
