Remove side marker light.
I get bored today and decided to remove the side marker light. (Owner's manual stated burned out bulb is to be serviced by the dealer, no DIY in the manual)
This is how I did.
- Remove 3 fasteners at fender(using flat screwdriver)
- Remove 3 bolts at under the front bumper.(10mm and 11mm sockets)
- Pry out the plastic liner to get to the light housing then squeeze in the latch and pop out the side marker housing.

Thanks for the info. I did try your suggestion but figured out any easier (and less greasy
) way afterward.
Instead of removing liner, I took the fog light plate and fog light off (torx screws), and was able to release the clip and pop the driver side marker out. I suspect passenger side should be the same.

What did you do afterwards? Did you replace it with clear ones?

Just replaced both side marker bulbs on my new to me 2007 R350. Bulbs are easily removed by removing the 3 lowest outside fender well retainers, sliding a hand onto the marker lamp, and turning the bulb holder ccw. Pull out and replace bulb in seconds. You can reuse the retainers(unless broken, or pick up 1/4" ones from any parts store for about $4.00 for 16 or twenty.

You have saved money from DIY. If you get parts from Amazon, you could save more.(MB air filters are made by Mann)

There is an even simpler, cleaner method.
Rotate the steering wheel away from the burned out front side marker bulb. On the inside wheel well cover, directly even with the front side marker lens is a 3/8 hole (yeah I know it is probably metric) above the retainer pin. Find a full length unsharpened yellow #2 pencil. Insert it into the hole eraser first and gently push on the amber tab of the marker lens. The entire lens will pop out into your hand.
This is the easiest bulb to change on the R350. Not sure why it was omitted from the owners manual when more complicated bulb replacements where included.

Good find.
So easy, even a Minion could do it
Thanks Coyote2280 your easy way of doing things helped save some of my Sunday for non-car related activities.
At first I thought the body shop had forgot to install the inner fender plastic pin and after reading your post figured out that MB actually left a hole there to shove a pencil (or I used a long flat screwdriver) into it to push the lamp clip forward and then pop-out she came.
And like you also said, this procedure could have been added to the owners manual.
Oh the replacement bulb is 2825.
