Is this a good purchase? help
I am looking at a R350 it has 86,000 miles and was a dealer courtesy vehicle, but not sure if I should purchase it. My husband died a few months ago so I do not have him for advise. Also, I am concerned about cost of repairs and the 16mls a gallon. I take care of my two children and one is in college. Right now I stay at home, but will have to get a job. I really need some guidance.
I feel that if I have to worry about the cost of ownership, I should keep what I have.
R350, Iridium Silver, TeleAid package, glass sunroof instead of panarama, Parktronic,hands free comm. system, Sirius radio avail., rear audio controls, harmon/kardon sound, power rear quarter windows, power tailgate, standard wheels, iPod kit, 6 disc CD, heated front seats
asking price: 19,900

I second that. Even if we assume they provide all service records and see that everything was performed to specifications I would be concerned owning a vehicle completely out of warranty when previously it was driven by tens or hundreds of people. It was a rental for the dealership customers so you should consider that too.

thank you for all your input. My technician would rather it have one owner also.
It was not rented to customers, but it was driven by dealership employees picking up and dropping off customers. Still not easy miles.
I did get them down to $18,000 so I bought it. I think that is a pretty good price. I really did not expect them to take it. I was outside going to my car when,.. we had a deal. I hope this is as reliable as my old 300D. We put 325,000 miles on it.
I can afford the repairs, I just do not like spending money.
One more question, for now. Dealership offered 12mth/12,000 mile EasyCare warranty covering pretty much all but maintenance for $2200 or 24/24,000 for $4400
what are your thoughts? I have until the end of the month to decide.

on an R350, you should be getting 4/48 or better for that kind of money
