Which air filter should I get
No intentions for getting an aftermarket because I do not want to decrease the longevity of the eng.

US Auto Parts has the Mann air filter as a set for $35.95, which is $17.98 each.
Anything from Performance Products is going to cost you more.

Yea I found that also. I am not giong to get fram. Either mann or beck arnley. I feel that those are high quality filters.

I am glad I chose mann over any other. The OEM mercedes air filter has MANN's part number on there.

For people who own 2008 R350, there is no long center bolt to be removed that makes changing air filters a little quicker. (metal cover does not center mounting bracket for the bolt, only saw a mounting bracket with female nut on the upper chassis)
I checked mine yesteray and the air filters are still clean (see thru light)so I just tapped the air filters and put them back (only 13K miles on odometer)
Note: Dealer charges ~$100.00 (Parts & labor).

I got mine from the dealer at 26,000 miles. I do not know when they were changed so I changed both of them out just in case 
It took me ~15 min to take the old out and ~10 to put it back together.
I got my filters for the R350 and 2 of my other cars from autopartswarehouse.com. They had a 10% off and free shipping.

I imagine it depends on how much dirt is in the air where you drive most. Desert sand? Coastal salt? Forest leaves? Found dead bugs in ours...some grass...leaves... Almost easy enough to visually check once a month or so.
