Hello, i have just bought an 08 Mercedez R350. What im wondering is when i press the NAV and MAP button on the screen it only shows the Compass and nothing else. I cant get to the actual navigation screen and i want to know why is that. Is there something that im doing wrong?

And also, i press the TEL button on the screen and after a few moments of it says that "Phone Off". Is there also something that im doing wrong?

I am new to the Mercedez models since i have never owned one. Please give me tips on how to make these work.

It sounds like your R doesn't equipped with Navigation and Phone as factory options.

The "screen" system where TEL and NAV and MAP functions are displayed is called COMAND.

Your vehicle should have a manual separate from the owners manual that covers strictly COMAND.

If you don't have one, you can get one from a Mercedes dealer or by calling 800.for.merc

Seems like you do not have either the navigation feature, or you may have it but not the navigation DVD.

Phone may not work with out the bluetooth interface "puck" Also the tele button is for the integrated telephone from MB, not for Verizon etc...

The stealer price is around $300. Go to ebay and get one for a 08 for around $70 Press eject button for CD and check to make sure the Navigation system is there, it's above CD player
