R350 Panoramic Roof Problem

I just bought a 2007 R350 and the Pano roof is not moving. When I hit the button, it makes a noise like the motor is running, but nothing. Roof won't retract or open. Is there an easy fix?

I'd a problem with mine last month. It was opening very slowly and making a groaning, creaking noise and eventually stopped. Luckily managed to close it and took it into the dealer. Took all day to strip it and found it needed a new motor, pulley and other bits and bobs. Had it 3 years and 35,000 miles and don't really open the pano much in our summers! Warranty had expired and took a gamble about not taking another one.
The dealer had just serviced it and had replaced all brake pads when they noticed the rear shocker was leaking - replaced it free out of goodwill without even asking. They then fixed the pano out of goodwill too as I bought and take both MB's there for servicing. That saved me the best part of £2,500 as it was in for 2 days and got a courtesy car.

Big job looking at the pano roof as there is no easy way in so has to be stripped. Good luck and hope you have a warranty as I was very, very lucky.

I broke our sunshades. It cost about 2 days and $1000 to fix. The panoramic is not cheap to fix but is totally cool.

Rear sunshades cost $400 and labor was about $600.

Are you talking about the rear roof (panoramic) sunshades or do you have rear door shades? Wow, I would never have guessed they were that expensive to install!

Yes I'm talking about the rear roof (panoramic) sunshade. The front has it's own sunshade. They have to take the whole interior liner off to replace the sunshade. I can only blame myself because I was messing with it and got it broke.

C350 and R350
Our panoramic sunroof on our 2010 was busted a week after we bought the car...took it to dealer and it was fixed in a day...bad sensor. Its a great feature...apparently its best from the back seats on a starry night. Me...I have too much fun driving it to sit in the back.
