Which TPMS?

Hello! I just got my brand spankin' new 2011 R350 and I'm fixin' to get snow tires for it. I've already got a set of the 19" Situla wheels and I want to put the TPMS sensors in them, but I'm finding two possible part numbers: A 002 540 7917 (315 Mhz) and A 002 540 8017 (433 Mhz).

How can I tell which part number is the proper one to get? I can't find any specific info for my specific car.

Thanks for the help.

Kevin

I would simply call any dealer parts dept with those numbers....have your VIN handy.

8017 (433Mhz). My Service Advisor gave me that part no. for my 2008 R350.

Sorry to bring this back after nearly a year but my genuine Mercedes-Benz valve stem caps siezed so I now have to replace my entire stems and TPMs.

I have a 2010 and when I gave the VIN to my dealership they said the part no. is 000-905-41-00, $144/ea. Now, how is this completely different then the numbers you guys have mentioned, for your 2008 & 2011 Rs? Could it be my wheels? I have the factory 19" AMGs.

Also, when looking for an aftermarket solution, I'm trying to avoid $600 for TPMs + $330 to install, I found the following:

http://www.oewheelsllc.com/wheel_acc...z-TPMS-sensors

Which shows a Mercedes Part of A0045429818. I called and the answer I recieved was "its on the customer to verify fitment", translastion = we don't know. Yah, they seem real reputable; Its a shame because they have great prices on replica AMG rims

Well, just incase anyone read this (or even cares) I found more info.

Current (Oct/2011) MBenz Part No.: 000-905-4100, 433Mhz, $144/ea.

This part supersedes A002-540-8017. The part dealer said that A002-540-8017 didn't exist, perhaps because he used my VIN which is for a 2010. He did say that A002-540-9017 was in the succession list. Perhaps the 8017 & the 9017 have to do with Model Year.

Moving on... my problem is not as grave as originally tought. According to two other dealers I am able to replace the valve stem itself (which is what is damaged). The MBenz Part No.: is 000-400-53-13-28, $50/ea. So far I have found them online for as low as $39/ea.

Hope this helps anyone else who finds themself in this most unfortunate situation. TIP: Don't use valve caps, this $20.99 part is going to cost me nearly $200 to fix.

PREVIOUS POST EDIT: A tech e-mail back from OEWheels, LLC and he was more than helpful; perhaps I just got a dingbat on the phone. Those AMG reps for my C350 are starting to look good again

I paid around $270 shipped for (4) 433 MHz TPMS's made by Siemens for my 20" rims and worked without any problem.

I'll probably have to deal with mine in time....just wondering those offered by tire-rack when you buy the complete wheel set online would work with our R.

I've heard that you can use valve caps, but use plastic not metal.
