R500 rear brake rotor-solid to vented?

My rears are worn out again. I am sick of changing my rotors every year.

I would like to buy aftermarket rotors, but I see I can choose solid or vented new rear brake rotors.

Anyone know any reason why I couldn't swap out OEM rear solid rotors for aftermarket vented? I'm not sure they would really provide any actual performance benefit but I'm curious if anyone has done it or know if it's possible.

Thanks.

Hard to believe you can find a vented rotor that's the same thickness as the OE solid rotor ... meaning it would require new calipers.

If your idea of "vented" is drilled holes or slots, that's another matter.
