second r-class just delivered
So my wife's 2009 r-class was about 6 months shy of lease end. We had about 30k miles on it and we started to look into what to replace it with. The r-class has been great, but like most, we were seeing what else was comparable. Out of no where my dealer called up and asked if we wanted to swap out our 2009 for a 2011 r350. No money down, just continue lease payments for another 36 month lease. Since we like the car we said sure, and yesterday my salesman drove out with the 2011 and took away the blutec.
The car is obsidian black (I think that's what they call it) with tan interior. The gas engine is quite different than the diesel and the ride is noticeably softer maybe because of the non run flat tires.
I know I probably could have saved some money by downgrading to a lower end car, but the dealership made it so easy to continue to own this uncommon and very functional family mover that I couldn't resist. Chalk up a sale to the excellent customer service!

I plan to get a 2012 at the ned of my lease with our 09. I can't think of a better vehicle for a 3 kid family. Plus, I am excited about the new Bluetec that was just released in the new ML, 30bhp and 50lb.ft more torque will make the R class a good deal quicker!

trading my wifes kid hauler '08 350 4matic for a white 2012 r 350 4 matic. does anyone know if it comes with the new V6 with 302hp? the sales person said he wasn't sure but i put the order in anyway, we just love the R. great for my 3y.o. twins and a 2mo. old.

I would think it would as it seems as it is going through the whole line...I am more excited about the new Bluetec with 231bhp and 445 lb.ft of torque!

!!! Should I consider the bluetec instead of the gasoline one? is TQ more important than HP?

Torque is what presses you into the back, that lowdown reponse that makes the car pick up and go. Diesel is tough to beat, just did a 300 mile trip and still have well over half a tank left, unreal for a vehicle this size!
