Just had Service B (today), but computer shows Service B in 9,962 miles

I just had the dealer perform the Service B on my 2010 R350 Bluetec (we love the car, BTW). As I tend to be slightly obsessive compulsive towards this car, I double-checked the service records and car's computer to see if everything had been properly documented.

I noticed that the car shows my next service as being a Service B in about 9.9K miles...correct me if I'm wrong, but should not the computer show Service A? It's obvious they reset the service indicator as we had only 400 miles until the Service B before today, but it still shows Service B as the next interval.

I tried resetting the service indicator myself, but that only reset the mileage. I called the service department and they stated they've seen this happen a couple of times where the computer won't reset the next type of service due. I wonder if any R-Class enthusiasts on here have seen this or heard of such a blip. Does anyone know of a way to fix the blip?

Obviously, the next time I service the car (which I may very well do myself as the labor prices were exorbitant), I'll show them the completed service records so they know to only perform the minor service (in case the service manual's recommendations for the 30,000 check-up isn't definitive/authoritative enough).

Thanks for the help.

Your next service could be service B based on your current mileage. Keep in mind the computer constantly evaluates when the next service is due, and what type of service will be needed based on current mileage, mileage since last service and time elapsed since last service. So, this means it could very well change to A or something else (like C) by the time it is due again, or remain at B. For example, my car a few months ago started giving me the warning upon startup that the car is due for service A in 30 days. A week later after I took it on a long trip (2K miles) the message changed to Service C.

How many miles do you have on the car now?

Have not heard about a "blip" ! And to be honest, even if it is true, I would expect a better response from my service advisor than that. This type of response would be "ok" from a neighborhood garage...

I have 19,600...so I thought the next Service would be the minor service/C service (since I've had both the minor and then major services already).

I have 71xxx miles on my R now....so service C is a minor service meaning just oil & filter change?
