2011 Cornering lights
Had a GLK as a loaner and the cornering lights were great. There is an extra bulb on the inside of each lamp housing that lights up when the wheel is turned in that direction - the reflector illuminates the entire corner. Also the HID's swivel.
According to the brochures, the R-class has cornering lights, but mine definitely aren't working or missing. According to the service advisor, the R-class doesn't have the feature - at least not in Canada, and not the 2011. There's no extra bulb in the lamp assembly and the HID's don't swivel horizontally, only vertically to level. All of the marketing material talks about cornering lights as a feature though.
Anybody have a a 2011 with the LED DRL's and HID's WITH a working cornering lamp feature?

My 2010 manual says that I have it, but it does not seem functional. The manual seems to say that the fog lamp on that side comes on in a turn with no extra lamp used. But then, I could be reading it incorrectly or as someone else said, it only comes with the zenon light package.

The HID's swivel only when in motion. I had it in my 08 R. turn the wheel when the car is moving slowly and you will notice it. as far as the fog lights, up till 2011 they light up automaticaly when turning. I only noticed it when my wife was following me. my 2012 R have the LED strips I haven't figured out how to turn them on at it's brightest setting manually. it just loooks like it's dim.

maybe they did away with it to cut cost
'coz my 2012 HID doesn't swivel horizontaly when turning like my '08 did, nor do the LED strip light up at a turn
. I'd like to think that I still got one over the dealer coz they added tri zone climate control and the panoramic roof w/o my authorization so they ate the cost

just saw the window sticker of my 08 it came with "active adaptic curve Bi-Xenons" and the window sticker on the '12 just says "HID Bi-xenons"
