R350 insurance cost

I plan on getting an insurance quote for a 2012 R class next week, and would like some feedback from the forum on what to expect.

Not looking for an absolute value, since that can fluctuate wildly depending on location. Rather, would like relative H/L value, such as vs. C class. And only interested in feedback from US owners, best if from Dallas area... well, I supposed it would be fun to find out how much it costs in China or Europe =)

From researching online, Motortrend and Yahoo place the R's insurance at 30-40% above the GLK (which I currently own)!! Does that sound about right?

Don't think this will make/break decision to buy R class, but just have to put it in the budget and figure out if my insurance company is giving me a good deal.

I have two Benzes as well, so decided on Liberty Mutual. They have a really good discount for Benz vehicles. Both my '05 clk320 convertible and '06 R350 together were ~$700 every 6 months ($1400/yr). With my '98 corvette is only $1600 per year and we both have dings in our driving record and claims history.

I work for Liberty Mutual. I handle the program for a local dealership and I'm sure our rates in TX will be competitive. The program guarantees that we repair your car with OEM parts. The dealerships are liking the programs and it's listed on the MB Financial website. Good luck.

Appreciate the information. It ended up being about 50% more expensive than the GLK, which corresponds roughly to the difference in value between the R and the GLK. So it seems to make sense, but I will PM you if we want to leave Allstate (we also have home insurance with them as well, so moving is not easy).
