2006 AC Diagnostic Outputs

Reading through the posts, has anyone located the steps that can display the AC operating values? Do they show on interior display areas?

Does this feature exist on 2006 R350's?

Used this feature on S and E class MB, but from all the posts I have searched and read, I can not find one that actually works (the correct button push steps) to display this information.

My issue is that the AC that does not start when you start the car, usually takes 5-10 minutes on a hot day before it gets cold. Then it gets cold but not at the level that the car did when it was new (it was a deep freeze auto).
Works if I had to guess = 70 % of what it was when new.

Anyone seen this type of results and what caused it?

Thanks in advance,

While I can't help, can you tell us if you have three zone climate control or two zone? (You can tell if it has 3 zone by the third row vents and LCD on the front display)

2006 AC Diagnostic Outputs

MB has front and rear .... but has vents in the 3rd seating area.
SO it's a 2 zone.

That picture shows a car with three zone. The three zones are front driver, front passenger, and rear. But that's not a photo of your car, is it? That's a GL...

The reason I ask is because I just replaced the control panel in the front row of my three zone equipped R because the display didn't show the red bars displaying fan speed except for the top bar on full blast. The unit otherwise works well and I may be willing to sell it if you're interested/ it's the part you actually need. Sorry I can't answer your question regarding diagnostics.

2006 AC Diagnostic Outputs

Anyone had an experience with diagnostics on R350? AC seems to get worse and not start the hotter it gets. Not the "freezer" like it was when new.

Is there a diagnostic menu available and or, a diagnostic check list that I can use?

2006 AC Diagnostic Outputs

Update: I am getting scared since I must be in new territory with my questions about AC Diagnostics on forum?
This is what I have collected so far, if this is not accurate please advise otherwise:

Compressor is a variable output design so it does not start and stop like most other auto AC compressors.

I would be wise to put gauge on high and low side to charge system.

Evacuating would always be the best method and then replace with correct
amount. If I do not follow that plan there are risks I will assume.

Charge system when compressor is running. Keep can upright.

AC was the best ever when new - 2006 R350 - seems to have slipped a year ago and this summer it does not get cool for about 3 - 5 minutes when it has sat outside in the heat.

On cooler days AC starts up fine.

In the evening with no loads, AC is very cold.

I am not sure there is an AC diagnostic built into the car. (as in other MB's)

MB AC repair work, seems to be an area of repair that most do not take on.

Hope I find a resource to diagnose and fix this issue. Not ready for the Dealership yet and the repair prices $$. (At least not yet)
