K&N issues?

I have had my K&N filters on for a few months now and the car worked just fine, no concerns what so ever. Last week the car tweaked out on a heavy throttle. Got a message saying take to workshop. I did and the dealership said that the K&N air filters were messing with the MAF sensor.

So they put MB OEM air filters in and said that the car is fine now.
Im going to drive it like this for another month or 2, then put the K&N's back on and see what happens.....

Anyone else have this issue?

R350 4-matic
Heard that with the K&N they need to be cleaned more often and more thoroughly than usual w/ other models. If not cleaned well, or if oiled excessively they can cause a "failure" to the MAF sensor.

When I installed the K&N filters, I cleaned the MAF with CRC MAF cleaner.

I will look at the K&N filters and see how dirty they are.

The filters came oiled so I just put them in straight from the box.

Oiled filters can wreak havoc on some sensitive intake systems.

AEM makes a good dry filter. I have one on a short ram intake for the 300C..

Here is their filter for the R
