Tire time, recommendations?
2008 R320 CDI, second set of OE tires are now worn, very unhappy with the OE Michelin Lattitude HP 255/55/18 105h MO for two reasons, the tires cannot handle this vehicle, the tread is worn unevenly accross the width (up to 7/32 remain on outside, 3-4/32 in center and 4-5/32 inside) and they do not handle well-soft and hydro plane in water. I want something that performs (I usually buy Pilot series tires from Michelin, but they don't have any for SUV in this size it seems) plus cost t is VERY high on them. I can handle $300 a tire, but not for this weak performance! Even wear is extremely important to me and rain performance, I run snows 5 months so winter does not influence, there is no excuse for a tire to wear unevenly. This R was dealer maintained since new, even more then the book requires, I cannot fault rotation as an issue, wheel alignment was checked last year and out a minor amount but nothing drastic to eat tires. I want a tire that will stay round and HANDLE!

I was about to suggest the lattitude Tour because I have them and I have been happy with them. But we are not the same drivers.
