My R500 transmission stucks in gear
Anyone is having your R (500) stuck in gear and will not shift? For the last three weeks, I have couple instances that the car will stuck at probably first or second gear. When I tried to accelerate, the engine will rep to 4-5K and the tran will not shifted. No faulty code at all. Turned the car off and everything reset. The car will then drive fine.
I have extended warranty but the dealer is about an hour away and would love to know what need to be fixed before I head out there. Btw, will the problem get worse?

I had my tran service last year and please let me know what you have found out. Really annoying and unsafe when it happened since I need to pull the car to the side and then turn the key off and on.

Ok, the fun began after my R500 did not accelerated when I stepped on the gas last night, even the car was in first gear and the rpm is rev over 3K. Just schedule an appointment with the dealer and will have it check out on Friday. I am 99% certain that it is going to be $$$ for my extended warranty company.
Btw, I was looking at the ML forum and the problem is kinda common. I have another two years on my extended warranty and hope they don't canceled me before it expires. The total repair bills for both the car and wheels extended warranty is touching $9K over the last three years.

Do you have the 7g tronic gear box. Seems to be something with them. Mine was in for a service but they didn't get to the gearbox. Need to schedule another appointment. Their initial investigation points to the "plate". Some part of the gear box.
Mine is out of warranty so you're lucky.

Just come back from the dealer and not sure how much is the conductor plate replacement. $3600 total for four problems:
Conduct plate replacement
Steering Pump Reservoir replacement
Engine Gaster replacement
Left front wheel axle replacement
Luckily I get the extended warranty, so my out of pocket cost is not too bad.
