Arnott air bags
I am a new R class owner 2006 R 500 with airmatic. I love the car maybe still on honeymoon. Looking at the postings and thinking of a long term relationship I wondered if anyone as had a repeat failure of the arnott air bags and how did the they handle warranty issue? If they don't repeat fail why would you go to all the effort to convert to coils

While Arnott is proud of our replacement springs and know them to be durable, given the heavy weight of the W251, they still could wear or dry-rot and pop a leak someday. That is why they come with a limited lifetime warranty. That warranty is not transferable so the next owner doesn't get replacements, and it does not cover shipping or labor.
Arnott doesn't have a Coil Conversion Kit for the R-Class (yet) but if we did we would want to make sure you are not towing anything heavy with the truck since typically springs can't adjust for too much added weight. The Arnott conversion kits we do manufacture provide a very nice ride - but they won't give you the same ride as air.

As an Arnott customer with air strut replacements on the front of my R500, I am a very happy customer. Fast free shipping, core replacement, and lifetime warranty. Great prices, MUCH lower than the dealer.
On my R500, I had to replace the pump under warranty at 20K miles and both front struts at around 72K. I took it as due to weight and possibly lower quality parts on the R, not sure.

I replaced mine about a year or so ago and haven't had a problem yet. They were much cheaper than the dealer cost and I did the entire job in less than an hour. Highly recommend this product and it is an easy dyi. Best part was the company was local so I didn't have to wait for shipping, just picked them up on my lunch hour. I am so happy with them that I will replace the air suspension with them in my LR3 when that system goes.
