OUCH! $450.50 Main Battery replaced
Just got my 08 R350 Camshaft adjustment solenoid wiring harness replaced without charge. On the bad side, my vehicle needs new main battery for $300 & $125 for labor + tax = $450.50 OUCH!!!!.

Yeah, probably should have called roadside assistance to do it as they won't charge you labor.
Yes it's a paint to remove as alluded to in the other post. I removed the front passenger seat to do some other work and noted that while the battery could be removed without removing the seat, it's a real tight fit. Since I bought my car preowned, I did notice the door that covers the battery had its locking hold downs broken. So this indicated to me that when my car's battery was replaced, they didn't remove the seat and forcefully pulled out this cover instead of properly removing the door/ maybe there wasn't enough clearance. If doing the battery, I would recommend removing the seat.
For that reason, the labor rate isn't totally out there for the amount that stealers charge.

I past the stage of OUCH at $450 for my R-class. My repair bills had exceed $10K the last two years and no price quote will surprise me. OH... my driver rear air shock is leaking air and I am sure it is going to be another $2K. Even with my extended warranty, I have spent over $1500 on all the works.

If I could find a suitable replacement, I would dump my R in a heart beat. Downside is it's paid for and has been overall solid, but w/ a bunch of niggling problems.
Just know the other shoe is about drop, and it's a pain always worrying about every sound and vibration.
MB, BMW, Audi, Porsche...all suck. Sad when you're reduced to wanting a Chevy.
