Question on Airmatic!

i have 07 R500 that has a sagging right front, which will rise upon starting the car. the car has about 65k miles with no warranty now.

based on threads on this forum, it looks like i can buy the parts thru Arnott and have it done in indy shop.

my question is on which parts i need to buy on Arnott website..?

Front Air Spring
Front Air Suspension Shock
New Air Suspension Compressor

do i need to replace both sides?
do i need to have it checked out first to see what's wrong with the car?

thank you for your reply in advance.

Air spring ($344) will fix the problem, but you will need to do both eventually.
At 65K, if doing the work anyway, I would just invest the extra $110 and get the new shock too. You should do both sides, your other one WILL leak.

You don't need a compressor, because when the compressor runs, the shock goes back up. It is probably just a hair size leak.

I asked Arnott specifically about their "rebuilt" front suspension components for the R class, the air spring is new and oem supplier on the front (not their own design like the rear) and the shock is used, they did not have the technology yet to rebuild the shocks (they are working on it, this was 6 months ago and hoped to have it within 1.5 years). So if you don't need a shock save your money as you will just get another used one! Absolutely get it diagnosed before ordering parts, and don't use the car for weeks with a weak air spring, the air compressor will burn up or wear out, it was not designed for constant use/lots of duty cycles. I think the job takes a couple hours per side in the front. They are not related side to side in terms of labour so do one side as needed no sense replacing parts just because. It could be years before the other side lets go.
