No sound from the radio
Drove the car (R class, 2006), in the morning, parked it for the day, and when I started it up to go home...no sound. No sound on any band, XM, AM, FM, weather.
Given that I can look at the radio and see what's playing on XM I'm going with that it's the amp. I don't think it can be a blown fuse or I would guess it would be totally dead.
If it is the amp, where is it located? I have dog crates in the back, and I'll want to remove them before taking the car in.
Also, is this something that a decent sound place can change out, or will it have to go to the dealer? What's the price like there and would they need to order one? How long will it take to change out? I'm asking so I know if I'm going to have to ask for a loaner, or if I can just spend an hour or so in the waiting area.
I'm not happy that this happened: my 14 year old Chevy conversion van, which ate transmissions like popcorn, managed to leave my house on a hook, with the radio still working.
