Main battery replacement
My battery is going to be replaced. Don't want to spend big $$ with dealer so shopping for a battery to install myself. AFAIK, replacement should be a gel battery BCI group size 49 (some sources say 48). According to BCI chart, group size 49 is 3" longer than 48.
Which batteries have good track record?
Bosch is OEM supplier for some electrical equipment for MB. Are BOSCH batteries any good?
On the side note, does anybody know a web store ship a battery to Canadian address?

Still $650 dealer asked me for battery replacement seems too much. Especially, because they don't want to cover battery with ELW I've purchased form them.

I just purchased an r350 and had to replace the battery immediately. The Bosch battery is decent and it has a three year replacement warranty. I'm not sure is Sears ships to Canada, but they ave having a sale in their Diehard Gold/Platinum batter for $143 and it also has a three year replacement warranty.

Main Battery replacement
The battery in my 2008 lasted until this year and I replaced it with an Interstate battery. Cost $225 Took about 2 hrs to replace it. Pretty simple procedure. Hint-do not unplug the electrical connector to the seat as this may give a code and the dealer will have to reset. Its easier to push the seat as far forward as it will go (after unbolting it) than to take it out.
