hard to start when cold.

Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum but had been reading it since July as I bought a 06 R350 back then.

I have a quick question,

I have a 2006 R350 and since last week the weather here in Quebec started to get colder…. When I start it up in the morning it gets flooded and run rough for few seconds maybe aminute ( I can see black smoke on start) and then everything’s seems to stabilise. Vehicle is running just great other than that. Any thought what itcould be? I have no codes. Vehicle was at a MB dealer last week for a wire harness replacement as per TSB.

How many miles on your R ?
You might be do for spark plugs, black smoke means to much gas or unburned gas

You probably have a clock heater...but no power cord connected to it. Have you looked for it?

Pretty sure only diesels come with block heaters.

Did you do the plugs yourself, it's important to get the right ones and gap them correctly

I haven't checked yet for the heater, As for the plugs Yes I did them myslef and I made sure to get the correct gap. Also I replaced them back in July or August and evrything was fine untill last week when it got a bit colder. seem to me like it hapened just after the harness replacement... but it certainely has nothing to do with that.
