2007 R320 CDI TPMS issue. New Sensors not reading.
The factory wheels and sensors work fine. I bought a set of 20" AMG reps and new sensors from http://www.tpms.com/Schrader_ez_sensor_s/6334.htm
I had everything installed and was told that after 10-20min of driving the vehicle would relearn the new sensors and everything would be fine, but it did the opposite. I was surprised to see no issues at all, then about 15min into driving the error message popped up and the TPMS light started flashing. No sensors detected.
Any thoughts? I tried holding the reset button, and pressing the reset button, ignition on engine off, ignition on engine on, no change.

I had the same problem. I purchased DILL 1049 sensors from America's Tire, which are the correct sensors for 2008 GL550 with 433 MHz, but they are not detected.
Justin, was your fixed? The dash just says Tire Pressure System Inoperative no wheel sensors detected. Prior to changing them from OEM sensors, the dash still showed the option to restart TPMS. Now it's gone.

According to Alldata the USA models with code 494 are 315MHz. Other versions without code 494 are 433MHz
You also need to record the TPMS ID number and use Star system (or another TPMS programming tool via the OBD2 plug) to program the system.
The tools to do this yourself are not cheap...$700 or so check the Autel ts501/601

Problem fixed for us TPMS "no wheel sensors"
We have a 2009 Mercedes R350. Had a "tire pressure sensor inoperative" message. initially Discount tire only found 1 bad sensor but after a couple months their scanner showed all 4 bad. We had DT replace all 4. They used the ignition key to read MHz. The key showed 315MHz so that's what they installed. We drove for 3 days. The warning message changed to "No Wheel sensors". At least before it was reading the system. Went back to DT. I brought the old sensors which we asked to keep. They read the frequency from the old sensors instead of the key this time and turned out to be 433 MHz. They changed the sensors again. This time after only about 5 minutes of driving the warning light went out and the system read "Tire Pressure monitor system active." The previous owner had changed the size of the tires so the sensors were not to original specs..
