R350 paint solutions, overall (black)

Worn-out 2006 R350, black, sat in the sun, a bunch of large whitish spots, uneven distribution... that plus usual scratches at corners. Also a chipped par of paint about 5x5mm right at the top of the wheel arc, front left, it shows the metal very well (I see rust coming soon).

Question:
What's an effective solution to give it a shine and even-out different parts of the body? Make it look more uniform? Anything I can do myself? I don't mind paying $ 300-400 for whatever, but I won't pay the $ 1500 that was quoted me for a full paint job.

Your paint is probably toast...

$1500 for a paint job is either really cheap or a really crappy paint job.

A full quality repaint runs 5 grand plus... and that is knowing a body shop....

Touch up any bare spots, clay bar it, then a quality wax.. about all you will be able to do without spending for a full paint job...

Another thing would be to look into a vinyl wrap???

ya, previous owner did the top (black) and the hood (carbon fibre-like), has small air bubbles in the crevasses of the hood reft and light. don't like it.

any advice if I chose to go that way?

Honestly, No... I personally hate vinyl..

If it was me, I would start taking off all the trim to save me some money, and get it to my friend's body shop and pony up the money for a paint job...

Heck, just dropped our's off. It was hit in a parking lot and there are a couple dents in the tailgate. I bought the latch and the star yet that repair is going to run me $500 at the buddy discount.
