Bluetooth question

I asked this in part of another post, but figured I would get a quicker response from a direct question.

I am looking at a 2008 r350. I want to make sure it has Bluetooth oem. I am aware of the aftermarket options but am looking to answer a few oem questions.

How would I know if this vehicle had integrated bluetooth? I am not in it to check and should have attempted when I was. It did not have the dongle in the arm rest, but I am not sure if that would have been the only option at time of purchase. It does have the sos or telemate system and voice recall i believe, this is why I am unsure.

Thanks in advance.

blue tooth integration was standard at least for Canadian models. Probably US too. All you have to add is the Bluetooth puck.. many available on ebay.

I have discovered as much. I have also purchased the car. My next questions if the new dongle or the old and whether either supports my wifes 5s. is it plug and play or is a call to mb needed.

Also thanks for the comment.

it is plug and play. I have used an older and new Blackberry. It will do phone but not stream audio. I got mine new in 2012 from the dealer and its B6 787 5878
The pin number is under the rear slide cover and you press the front Mercedes star to pair.

We have an 08 and it has worked with a 4s , 5s, and now the 6 + so you shouldnt have a problem. After you get the dongle plugged in it should power up. Push the "star" and the blue light will start blinking, then enter the code thats under the cover as mentioned .

Ty again. We will be looking to purchase a dongle. Will the cheaper one work like you are saying? Also anyone have a good ebay or other person to buy from?
