Mph to kmh....... HELP!
Went in for service with the analog speedo set on mph. Came back from service with everything reading in kmh... Is this something I can reset myself, or do I have to take it back, again? Theyve already had my car for about a month, and now I finally get it back, and the whole dash is reading kmh..... Holy frustrating batman! If this can be reversed without having to go to the dealer, I would loooove to know how. As clearly I have a bunch of incompetent imbiciles for dealer mechanics.....

I got the same thing when I brought my R in for service. Drove back the dealer the next day and had them converted back to MPH. I believed that dealer had to hook up to the computer (STAR) to do it.

The analog speedo, the one with the actual arm that moves. The km/h is lit up, and the speedo moves at the rate of kilometers, not miles.... I was afraid I'd have to go back.... Thanks for the replies guys.... Guess ima have to raise some hell when I get there.... And then never go back.. Horrible customer service...

Not true.
Both digital and analog can be changed via the settings, very easily. (2006 R350)
The backlit white MPH sign in the middle of the analog displays shuts down and KM/H lights up. I'm in Canada and I travel to the US very often. I change it all the time. Sometimes the analog, sometimes the digital (instead of temperature), sometimes both. You can also have both changed at the same time.
However, I just took a look at the manual, and, true enough, they only talk about the digital setting.
Too lazy to go to my car right now, but will tomorrow and take pics of the menus.

One last thought...
The dealer's system has te ability to activate functions so they become easily available through settings for the driver. They can also hide them.
For instance (my case): Service A, B or C used to be totally hidden and came up only a few kms before they're due. Now since the last service "service C (with the descending mileage available) is constantly available in the mileage/temperature/etc series, while Service A and Service B counts are still hidden.
They can do that kind of thing.
Anyways, I'll come back with an answer tomorrow.

I don't know if it's a difference in the years, or maybe something else, but whatever it is, I don't have the option to change the analog speedo at all. I can only change the digital one. It's very frustrating, they keep telling me I need a new cluster, for the small price of $2000. Even though it all worked just fine when I brought it to them, reading in miles, not kilometers. And they are basically refusing to do anything about it. I'm getting to the point of getting rid of the car because the service department wants to screw me over, and all I've had is problems. I love the car, I love the engine, but I despise the service team at the dealership!

You're getting royally screwed. Worse come to worse, a cluster is $200-$300 off eBay. Installation is fairly easy.
I'm quite sure that their deaership computer system can turn that feature on and off so it becomes available or not for the user.
Shop around for a good local mechanic and screw the dealership. It's a car that deserves love invested in it and you can go a long way with a decent mechanic.

You are right, I have 08 too.
The dealer lied to you. I had mine done at the dealer without charge because it was on MPH when I bought it it and got back KPH (by the way, I know the service manager for years so he can not crew me)

He's also telling me that I can't use a used cluster(which is what is in the car currently). So help me out here, if I get a different cluster, even though the one in it is working just fine, how do I get the odometer to show back up? It worked, then the new (used) one got installed, no odo, and now km/h instead of mph.....
