Door Control Module

So I was backing up my wife's R350 when a phone pole suddenly moved closer to me. I am now replacing the driver's door and mirror. Don't ask...

I have a used door which is complete with control module etc. Is the module specific for options or generic and controlled by the main computer?

In other words, her car has power folding, dimming, and memory mirrors. Will I need the original module to make everything work? Will I need to re-code the fob?
THANKS,
JC

Please watch out for those rogue moving phone poles out there! They show no mercy!

Since you have to go through the trouble of switching doors, put your module in so you won't have to worry about it. Most modules are coded to the car, so I would expect the door module to be. If the features of the donor door are different than your car, then yes you must switch it. If the features are the same then I just highly suggest you switch it.

Thanks for the info. Off tomorrow, I'll post how it went.

UPDATE!!!!
So the control module is car specific. I was able to remove the board from the original door control module case and put it in the donor door in about 2 minutes. Everything back in place and working perfectly.
