KEYLESS GO Problems
My 2011 R350 has developed a really odd problem with the KEYLESS GO. It started about a month ago, and I would randomly (like 1 per 20 entries) get odd messages in the display when getting IN the car saying "Don't forget your keys".
Then, the door wouldn't unlock just by touching the handle like it did before. I would have to pull the handle, then it would unlock.
Now - I can't unlock any door unless I press the unlock button on the fob. Also - immediately when I get out of the car and shut the door, all the doors lock, sunroof closes, and sunshade closes. On the rare occassion that the door works to unlock, the windows all roll down.
...START button works just fine.
Before answering me with the obvious, yes, I have tried my spare key. Yes, I have tried replacing the batteries. Yes, I've checked fuses. Anything else?
Thanks!

Its your door handles. I had the same problem. All ready replaced 3 of my door handle and the last one just gave out. Its the little black square on the handle that stops working.

Question (because I also have the KGo and always happy to find out ahead of time if same situation occurs for me) but why would the button on the door handle (which acts to lock the door) cause the rest of the wireless to behave ... 'immediately when I get out of the car and shut the door, all the doors lock, sunroof closes, and sunshade closes. On the rare occassion that the door works to unlock, the windows all roll down. ' ...
Thanks

It makes a short in the circuit and it will give you all those symptoms. I think water enters by the little black button. I know its in cast in epoxy on the in side of the handle(I took it apart) but some how water enters.

My RClass was doing the same intermittent thing with the handles and then the start button also quit working. The key works find to unlock and start the vehicle. At the dealer that said the command module was showing “offline”. Any thoughts?

The KGO module is at the bottom of the trunk under the spare tire. In my car water got entrapped there and killed the module, and I then had no start button or door unlocks. The dealer’s assertion the module is offline is consistent with that kind of problem. Go check the module and see what it looks like. A replacement from a salvage yard is not expensive and can be plugged in for a test, without dismounting anything. Be mindful that the connectors may have rusted and cause this failure even if the module is not bad, in which case you will want the salvage yard to leave the connectors on and cut the cables leaving you a pigtail of cable to splice to the cables in your car.
