Hi- My rear exterior lighting and auto door handle are not working.

I have done a visible inspection on all wiring around truck hatch for any breaks, bends, or creases...nothing unusual found

I have changed the relay..I feel its the correct relay but I had a little trouble locating.

I have a error code for the rear sam unit showing 9096 The output of component F4kR (circuit 15R relay) has short circuit to ground.

I assume its the rear SAM unit but I m hoping not because I cant really afford that...

Did you find the resolution? I have the same error in my 2008 W164 ML350

Yes, I replaced the SAM module with a used one from ebay for $225

Did you have to do any repinning or was did simply swapping out the boards do the trick?

Its a straight module swap, there are no board swaps or wiring changes.
