Bluetooth function and audio!
So my only issue with my 2010 R350 which I recently purchased is that for some reason I cannot get any audio on my Bluetooth other than the phone, so no music playing on the iPhone will broadcast through the Bluetooth! Is that normal? is it just an older Bluetooth system?

There might be some way to hack a fix to this, as iPhone navigation using Maps will broadcast the voice commands through the speakers (using bluetooth) and Siri works via the speakers too for paired iPhones. You lose the navigation map when this happens. I have the iPod connector in the glovebox - this is the old style connector and I have an old iPod Classic which is my car's music library. It does work with a lightning adapter too.

Well... if you have Media Interface port in your R350 - then you can use this cable/dongle to add Bluetooth Music:

That is great. I actually do have the cables in the gloves box and so you are saying I just add this and replace with the old one! I am willing to spend 90 bucks if it resolves my issue.
I ordered this which I believe is a match and compatible with my R class.

Thanks again.

Hi all - for those that have this, does it allow the phone function on the device to work normally whilst playing music?
Can you still use the steering wheel to answer/hangup?

you mean with the WMA3000A Bluetooth Adapter? I have not put mine on but I would think you can. I'll check it out and let you know by tomorrow.

So I got the adopter and connected my iPhone 6s to it, however, the audio music function still does not work but the phone of course does connect. a small headphone icon appears on the phone when connected to the device and I cannot figure out why it does not play music out of my phone.
Any ideas?
Onnzu, the phone does disconnect via the steering wheel even after connecting it to the adapter, if that was your question.

Thanks for checking. Your post says it does disconnect. Do you mean it does connect?
check to see if you have the option to play music via the headphones/adaptor or speaker. Swipe up from the bottom to bring up the control Centre (and right on the latest iOS which has a separate control Centre for audio)
ive already ordered mine so I'll see if I have the same problem when it arrives

please tell me what your experience with this is as I am concerned that this is not a match for my 2010 system and I may have to return it and get another one that is compatible, if I am having an issue of compatibility.
As far as what you were saying I should try on my cellphone, are you suggesting I should change something on my settings on my cell in order to be able to play what is on the cellphone through the adapter?
Again, please keep me posted on your experience once yours arrive.

So okay i got it to work and it works perfectly. I had to "forget this device" on the car Bluetooth and then connect to the adapter. Everything works including the hang up/ call button on the steering whern 🍻

mine was fine but for some reason it no longer works since two days ago. I only see a headphone symbol on my phone and no audio from the phone is transmitted to the car!! I mean the unit seems okay but some how my car does not connect to my phone, although the phone is connected to the phone and of course plugged in where it should be!

My delivery arrived today and I plugged it in and synced. It worked first go. I did notice that the car was paired to my wife's phone and music was connected to my phone at the same time.
Not it sure how that is going to work when calls come in. Presumably it will prioritize the phone connection over music.
Edit - been using it for a few days now. Its great and music starts playing as soon as I get in the car from where it left off. Taking calls works as normal and I can control the songs from the steering wheel.
Money well spent!

Your bluetooth audio should work on that COMAND head unit. When all else fails, Youtube it. The pairing is more difficult than it should be.

2008 Mercedes-Benz R320CDI 4Matic
I just bought a pre-owned 2008 R320 model, a Bluetooth device is installed under the armrest, when I start the car this device flash with blue light and on from monitor I get the message that "Phone is being activated, please wait", but after some time device flash stop and i get message that "Phone off".
While the device flash, I pressed the Star logo button for long but device never flashed quick, and my mobile never found the car Bluetooth for pairing.
How can I delete all the data for old paired devices ?
or How I confirm that my Bluetooth device is OK?

Yes, it supports any BT phone.
Your newer post face lift R350 has bluetooth for phone. I gather you are using it. It does not support bluetooth audio. This is mentioned in your owners manual or the Command manual. Use the aux audio input, or what I do, I have put my music on an SD card. Much better audio quality than BT.
