Bluetooth function and audio!
There might be some way to hack a fix to this, as iPhone navigation using Maps will broadcast the voice commands through the speakers (using bluetooth) and Siri works via the speakers too for paired iPhones. You lose the navigation map when this happens. I have the iPod connector in the glovebox - this is the old style connector and I have an old iPod Classic which is my car's music library. It does work with a lightning adapter too.

I ordered this which I believe is a match and compatible with my R class.

Thanks again.

Any ideas?
Onnzu, the phone does disconnect via the steering wheel even after connecting it to the adapter, if that was your question.
check to see if you have the option to play music via the headphones/adaptor or speaker. Swipe up from the bottom to bring up the control Centre (and right on the latest iOS which has a separate control Centre for audio)
ive already ordered mine so I'll see if I have the same problem when it arrives

please tell me what your experience with this is as I am concerned that this is not a match for my 2010 system and I may have to return it and get another one that is compatible, if I am having an issue of compatibility.
As far as what you were saying I should try on my cellphone, are you suggesting I should change something on my settings on my cell in order to be able to play what is on the cellphone through the adapter?
Again, please keep me posted on your experience once yours arrive.

Not it sure how that is going to work when calls come in. Presumably it will prioritize the phone connection over music.
Edit - been using it for a few days now. Its great and music starts playing as soon as I get in the car from where it left off. Taking calls works as normal and I can control the songs from the steering wheel.
Money well spent!

While the device flash, I pressed the Star logo button for long but device never flashed quick, and my mobile never found the car Bluetooth for pairing.
How can I delete all the data for old paired devices ?
or How I confirm that my Bluetooth device is OK?
Yes, it supports any BT phone.
Your newer post face lift R350 has bluetooth for phone. I gather you are using it. It does not support bluetooth audio. This is mentioned in your owners manual or the Command manual. Use the aux audio input, or what I do, I have put my music on an SD card. Much better audio quality than BT.
