when they fail. Very rare...

They are not a maintenance item. You replace them when they fail, a check engine light and glow plug light will illuminate when the system detects one is failed.

thanks.
Only because the car is getting old now, and sound like a truck or a bus.(2010, 100,000km) Just think it will help |

The quality of the atomisation has a huge impact on combustion. Not much to do apart from changing them and that is $500+ per injector. That's why I wont buy another diesel. I grit my teeth everytime I accelerated from stop because of all the noise. Still quiet at highway speeds. |
Glow plugs won't help with any noise. Lately I've seen some timing chains stretching out causing some noise, this on the v6 om642, usually higher miles.
