07 R500 Random shift issue

Hello all, I just bought this r class and the issue I am experiencing is on 2 occasions the trans stayed in high gear after getting off the freeway.... I pulled over...put it in park then back to drive ..took off then it would not shift out of low gear.... I pull over...put in park then shut the car off and restart it then it works fine for a day then will happen randomly.... could it be the intelligent servo? I don't get any trouble messages....

Transmission Valve Body possibly?

Hi Rudehog,
sounds sort of like what my indy told me to watch out for ... the car uses the Mercedes 722.9 7G Tronic transmission and one of the known issues (mainly the earlier ones like our R500's) is the valve body / conductor plate..
here's a link ... see if the symptons are similar and best of luck

Thanks for the link Jon, lot of interesting info there.... I wonder if these transmissions can set codes without a check eng light coming on? I'm going to scan it first and see where that leads..
