Tires for my ML 350 2010
I only got 20,000 miles on a set of Michelin tires. Can you suggest a brand and ones that get better wear. I need mud and snow since I live at Lake Tahoe.

what model where they and size? Latitude Tour HP?
try the new Michelin Defender. its their highest mileage tire.
or the also newer Premier, a bit less millage but better ride and handling.
I just go the Premiers. I like them so far. to replace OEM Conti 4x4 contact..

Best R-class tires in my experience
Yokohama Geolandar 255/50 R 19 have been the best for me. Owned the R500 for 5 years so far.
Liked the Michelin Latitude, quiet and handle well but wear front edges too fast, Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico, wear too fast and prefer less than 40 psi for a good ride, Hankook a cheap model were noisy and slippy in the wet - took them off before worn. Continental Extreme Contact DWS are fantastic! but bad in wet after 20k, fronts wear unevenly.
Geolandars are a happy medium: resistant to wear on front edges (I've had them more than a year), balance well, very smooth and quiet on good roads, but transmit noise on a rough road w/ more than 45 psi, good in the wet. Good for touring and interstate. Ice? don't know. Soft Conti's handle better, but the R500 is more for touring. I'd buy the Yoko's again.
Going to 20" wheels, wish they came in 255/45 R 20 or 265/40 R 20.
