R350-power steering EHPS or not?
Crosspost from tech talk forum.
Thanks in advance for help - I have a 2006 R350 with a seemingly bad power steering pump. Not leaking, just whining and little or no assist at slow speeds/idle.
Would like to determine whether I can reasonably DIY this repair. RepairSurge (procedure attached) shows a reasonably straightforward repair if my vehicle has EHPS (ElectroHydraulic Power Steering), but if I do NOT have EHPS, the procedure is much more involved and includes discharging the AC system which I'm not interested in undertaking.
Any thoughts on how to determine in advance which version my car has? My chassis # (last 8 of VIN) is 6A027469
Thanks!

You may want to verify those procedures. My 2011 All Data DIY does not mention anything about AC with or without the electrohydraulic.. which btw seems to be a rarity. Not sure what models that went on.
